Marlene Bernstein Pottery Studio & Accessories, and Aprons for Artists were created by me, a potter!
I am a self-taught potter and started selling my pottery in the early ’90s. I was lucky enough to have sales reps at the L.A. Mart interested in my work and they sold my ceramics at high-end retail stores throughout the United States. After a couple of years of non-stop working, I burned out and it wasn’t until 2015 that I picked up clay for a second time. I took classes at a local ceramic studio in the town where I live and fell in love with clay again. I love the idea that I can take a blob of mud/clay and create something out of it with my own hands. My items are mostly functional and are either hand built (taking slabs or blobs of clay and making something by hand), or wheel thrown (yes, just like in Ghost), and all are glazed by me. Everything is created in my home studio that my clever husband built for me (us…remember Ghost) and I love being a potter.
Working with clay is so rewarding , but then then there’s the mess clay makes! Cleaning up my studio, and myself after a day creating is a big job. On that needs the “Perfect Apron”. Over the years, I have purchased many different aprons and found that I liked a little bit of this one, and a little bit of that one, but was never completely satisfied. I needed The Perfect Apron that had all the features I wanted in one apron that will suit many artists. The Perfect Apron offers a split leg (necessary for movement and coverage), towel loop (no more wiping my hands on my clothing), crisscross back (no neck pulling & it has adjustable straps), 2 full pockets (holds tools and my phone), and X-Long tie for front or back closure. Made from 100% durable duck cotton fabric. Machine washable and dryer safe. One Size/Full Cut and Made in the USA.

I hope you enjoy my pottery and aprons.
